Minlove on hold

Due to some changes and issues relating to my personal situation I decided to put the minlove project on hold. It was a hard and bitter decision, but it seems to be the only way to concentrate on a few things that I neglected to much within the last 2 years and which are important for my occupational interests. I spent a lot of time to rethink and reflect the current situation, asked a few good friends and finally came to this point.

Almost one year after minlove's first showcase we are proud to announce the 7th netrelease that aims to give an insight into the patient work of one of the most eclectic and prolific labels out there. Andy Vaz - head behind Background Records followed our invitation to present the labels vision and it's highly unique sound aesthetic that is deeply rooted in the early Motor City sound and perfectly placed into a modern and state-of-the-art electronic music context.

Background label.showcase

After reaching a remarkable degree of maturity, exclusive perhaps to only a few minimal techno labels labels world-wide, it can be clearly seen that the central aim of Background Records has always been, and will always be, to bring together minimal, ultra-raw, unique and sometimes futuristic music from different people, with different angles, and different and very personal individual backgrounds - each character bringing their own perspective on the minimal side of Techno.

Hailing from Perth, Western Australia, the physical seclusion of living in the most isolated city in the world has inspired Dave Miller to create truly modern forms of electronic music. location . Detroit, US

Terrence Dixon’s passage into electronic music has been revolutionary to say the least. He began with releases in early 1990’s on Utensil first as Terrence Dixon which then lead to his creation of Population 1 and further collaboration with Detroit’s most renowned electronic music artists. His radical, raw, minimal type of music left people wanting more and lead to further releases on Metroplex and Background Records, just to name a few label icons with which he has established a strong musical relationship.
