trim03-35px.jpgLeif/Apoll/Tom Ellis - No Possibility EP (12")
label . Trimsound
Release date . March, 2006

With their third 12" Trimsound delivers a refreshingly varied mini compilation featuring the labels own producer duo Leif and Tom Ellis and a charming remix by Apoll - known for releases on STHLM, Sub Static and Tongut. Hailing from the green hills of north Wales, Leif and Tom are currently stepping into the spotlight with impeccable releases on Paris based imprint Logistic Records and Archipel - not to miss their previous output on Mindtours and Morris Audio.

Leif's „No Possibility“ on the a-side delivers a straight up, yet lightweight blend of head nodding beats and a lovely sparse sound design that creates a superbly funked up and groovy mix of restrained tension. Apoll's rework of the title track comes across as a surprisingly moving journey into lively minimal patterns, perfectly balanced and arranged to leave a subliminal sound that is equally passionate and sophisticated.
„Driver Problems“ by Tom Ellis follows on the filp-side in a more subtle and cautious vein, melting lush sampling and crispy effects while creating charming repetitive structures driven by a shuffling mid-tempo groove. Leif's 'Re-installation' Edit preserves the subtlety of the tasty original and creates a tension between abstraction and harmonic intensity while deconstructing existing patterns as quickly as creating new ones.
