Various Artists - Unfound EP (12")
label . Goosehound
Release date . April, 2006
Goosehounds „Unfound EP“ is a charming and endearing tribute to Philadelphia's Unfoundsound netlabel, one of the most influential netaudio projects these days. The delightful 12" features tracks by Butane, The Suffragettes and a Someone Else remix of Ezekiel Honig, taken from Unfoundsound's glowing back catalogue as well as an exclusive track by Barem from Buenos Aires, who's gaining reputation for contributions to various netlabels and forthcoming vinyl releases.

The Japanese production and dj team opens up with „Homework 1, a lively microcosm of crackling glitches and underpinning vocal fragments driven by a pounding groove of raw sonic energy. The Someone Else rework of „Under The Covers” - appearing on unfound 03, turns the stripped down rhythm patterns and lushly athmospheric ambience of the original into a more energetic blend of crystal clear yet raunchy sampling and hissing noise treatments.
On the flip side Barem's dancefloor-friendly and highly infectious “Three Tiny Trees” provides a perfect counterpart to Butanes intricate and melodic mix of house influeced grooves and truly funked up sounds that differentiate perfectly against the vibrant backdrop of dense layered textures and a gently resonating synth bass.
