Mineral is a minimal techno label founded by Decibel (Dawson Baca) and Jerga (Lineas de Nazca) in 2004. Decibel hails from Los Angeles and resides in Berlin with the objective of pushing things further for the label and his own projects. After [a]pendics.shuffle's fabulous „Real People EP“, the current release gives a bright and inspiring glimpse on Decibel's extraordinary production style, also featuring two stunning remixes by Pier Bucci and Jay Haze.

„Turquesa“ refreshes with spacious percussive clicks and whirrs driven by a shuffling midtempo groove and a highly infectious, slightly distorted synth theme of distant melancholy. Pier Bucci's rework turns the broken rhythm patterns of the original into a more uptempo groover of deft ease, combining clever beat programming with bleepy particles and spaced out quotes and abstractions ot the main theme. While „Fantasy vs. Reality“ feels like a fully fleshed out beast - combining panting, almost fractured grooves, hissing textures and a wavering bass line of stirring deepness, Jay's rework delivers a more stripped down version full of propulsive intensity and thrilling rhythms. Overall a highly varied 12" full of vim and vigor -- recommended!
