Westend Ghetto - Glitchgirls (12")
label . Adjunct
Release date . March, 2006
Already the third release on Adjunct this year and again a varied and inspiring 4tracker that 'll stir up the dancefloor with its dry and hefty 4/4 patterns and marvelously weaving noisy textures. Westend Ghetto aka Einmeier and Maria Ovenbröd are delivering 4 tracks of utilizing randomness, characterized by complexity and exhilarating speed. The result is an EP incredibly rich in detail that boasts a very organic feel while pointing towards a more digital direction.

The a-side showcases the more driving side of the 4tracker, melting thrilling grooves and rhythms with an almost disheveled sound full of digital hums and hisses. On the flipside „Glitchgirls“ delivers an infectious blend of sophisticated arrangement and trippy sound effects broken by sudden outbreaks of a haunting melodic theme.
Closing track „Moepez“ combines looping patterns of noise and abstract sonic pops creating simple but effective rhythm structures that round up this EP perfectly. Altogether a remarkable and successful debut on the LA based imprint.
