„Mini 24“ is the promising solo debut by Marek Hemmann, one half of the german dj and producer duo Hemmann & Kaden (Freude Am Tanzen). The EP features three refreshing tracks of catching simplicity, drawing on a range of seemingly disparate influences to create a truly varied sound that is equally passionate and sophisticated. With superior ease and curiosity Hemmann fuses kicking and truly floor-friendly grooves with a deliberate melodic base of infectious grace.
While the title track feels more like a dark and haunting industrial techno piece the flipside delivers a more subtle and sensitive version of the same theme. "Radio Pepper" - my favourite on this one - melts clear, yet funky rhythmical patterns with pulsating drones all covered by playful arranged and stunningly beautiful synth tunes, creating a timeless and almost magical quality. Excellent 12" -- recommended!
