For Nils Scheibe aka Treplec, it all started in a typical way: Techno shows on the radio. Night after night he listened to broadcasts from the legendary E-Werk in Berlin. Eventually, he started buying and spinning the records he had heard. A few years later in 1998, he and some friends accomplished their dream of their own club in a basement: Milnor was born.

Unfortunately, there was a change of ownership only a few weeks after the opening and the Milnor crew was left without a location. Almost at the same time, Dessau saw the opening of another club: The Global Village. There, Treplec became resident and responsible for the musical program as well. Soon, the “Milnor Nights” at the Global received nationwide reputation as an excellent party series.
With his booking policy, Treplec often took a risk by inviting artists usually unknown to the common party attendant. He was one of the first to bring a style into the club that has been appreciated by many but was usually not regarded as dancefloor-compatible: Minimal Techno. Vehemently he fought for this sound and to this day, he proves with every single set that the dancefloor is what this music is made for. Sounding comfortably relaxing in the living room, Minimal Techno can not release its full power until being dropped on a forceful stereo system - and will make the crowd scream there. Treplec’s sets are characterized by this certain kick that will take you away and won’t let you go for hours.
A similar and no less resolute philosophy is what’s behind Treplec’s label Milnormodern, founded in 2003: He releases what’s rocking himself best. As a producer, Treplec - together with his producing partner André Koerner - can already look back on an appearance on Müller Records (consequently, the EP was named “Milnor Modern”). But the driving, melodic Techno style seen on this record from 2001 today is no longer what Treplec wants to be identified with. Instead, his aim with his own imprint is to release exciting and ambitious tracks fitting both club and living room. The second release - Robag Wruhme’s “Jena Makks EP” - already turned into a respectable club hit, hitting rank five in the DJ-charts of German GROOVE Magazine. With the next EP by himself (MMR 004), Treplec is turning over a new leaf in his musical career. It’s frikly, grooving, rockin - just “minimal.deep.freakin’ techno”.
