The Suffragettes are a production/dj team, consists of 4 young Japanese guys, so inagawa, sackrai, yone-ko, kesu, based on Nagoya and Tokyo. As their teenage days in early 1990's, they were inspired by bands like The Jesus and Mary chain, Suicide, Depeche Mode, Fishmans, The Smiths and Throbbing Gristle as well as early days' techno music like Richie Hawtin, daniel Bell, Fumiya Tanaka, DJ Hell and Detroit techno.

In those days, when everyone was getting discovering techno music in Japan, they were introduced to raves and clubs naturally. As soon as the four of them found instruments, they became into making their own music in the bedrooms, and fell in love with mixing different tracks. In 1998, so inagawa and sackrai met at the seminar on "suffragist & suffragette" in the university, and they started an electronic noise band, which is their most interest in those terms. When they were introduced to one of the first biggest rave in Japan, they met yone-ko and kesu naturally.

As they had something in common, which is called "passion for music", they hit it off with each other right away. In 2000, they decided to visit Berlin, and that trip was the turning point of their solid faith to electronic music, and their decision to start their own party "cabaret" in their home town Nagoya. The party "cabaret" has always been representing the music between Techno and House for 5 years. It has been done every other month, and their live set featuring their original tracks are one of the topics.

From MTR to hardware synthesizer to MPC2000 and ends up with Laptops, they have been changing their style of expression, but not their passion for expression. Besides, they have been introducing well-selected guest DJs to Nagoya and becoming one of the most important party in Japan. In 2004, so inagawa released his own track "cabaret" from Telegraph records (France). the suffragettes released their first track from WC recordings(Japan), which is called "gender". Their upcoming releases are from Fenou, and unfoundsound, and there are going to be lots of more to come.
