Basebog - which is one of the first italian webzines dedicated exclusively to electronic music and that's by today the most important information point for new releases and events - posted an interesting interview between Andy Vaz (Background Records, Soundvariation) and Federica Linke - one of the heads/main editors behind Basebog.

"... there were these young kids serving beer at the VIP lounge and they would ask me - “Hei man, so you are playing, but what the fuck do you play?” – and I would say - "Well minimal" – and then they were like – “Oh, minimal trance?” or "Minimal like Jeff Mills?" or "Minimal like Kompakt?" -- I think there is no minimal anymore because nobody in the outside world has any idea. Everybody has a different idea of what minimal is. “Minimal trance” is probably the dummiest thing I’ve ever heard. It’s weird...how can you describe when too many musical styles all run under the "minimal techno banner"? ..."
