mmr05-35px.gifV.A. - mod.cooperate.three (12")
label . milnormodern records
release date . september 26, 2005

After Koerner & Treplec's refreshing "Untenrumgehtsbesser" ep, that hit the streets in July, Milnormodern blesses us with an inspiring 4track minicompilation that connects the West to the Far East while melting four unique approaches to clicking, yet thrilling minimal techno. The lineup consists of four top-notch artists and collaborative projects starting with Hemmann & Kaden, Mark Henning and Das Krause Duo (DJ Carlson Basu & Metaboman) - best known for their output on Freude Am Tanzen and is ending up with The Suffragettes, three Japanese producers with releases on Electric Avenue, Telegraph and Fenou.

The a-side with Hermann & Kaden's "Walk" and a second track by Mark Henning comes along in this typical fiddling, yet driving Freude am Tanzen manner we all like and appreciate so much, while Krause Duo's "Go" on the flipside opens up the initially mentioned connection to the Far Eastern world.
With catchy sampling - that seem to be taken from dusty martial arts movies from the 80's - Carlson & Metaboman are contributing a highly refreshing cut filled up with a lot of unexpected twists and turns. The Suffragettes are closing this varied compilation with a highly sensitive minimal piece - subtle and diverse - that may remind the listener to So Inagawa & Sakurai's contribution to the first split 10" on Fenou (sidelabel of Mo's Ferry Productions) a few weeks ago. All in all a surprising release - intense and unexpected - highly recommended!
