After a series of five 12"s on mo's ferry productions since 2003, "Close up" is the first full length by Dapayk & Padberg (Eva Padberg + Niklas Worgt). The marvelous and charming symbiosis of glamourous melodic lyrics and sophisticated minmal, yet technoid arrangements merges in an amazingly versatile release - providing eight tracks that showcases this unique collaborational project at it's best.
The album feels like a dialogue between two worlds (musically and lyrically). Like a seemlessly flowing connection between subtle minimal techno - rich in depth, detail and sampling virtuosity - and 'the dark side' - straight-up and knee-bending, designed for the dancefloor - dedicated to the masses. Dapayk's crystal-clear sound and production convinces once again and seems to be an underlying link that connects elements of both styles and genres. More of this, please!
