Secondo
Departing from existing popular songs of various origins, Secondo cuts his source material carefully into minute fragments in order to compose entirely new pieces of music – somehow maintainig the atmosphere of the original, but shifting away from it structurally and rhythmically. Until now a cross-section of genres have been visited: hip hop, disco, chanson and pop music.
Currently there are fi ve double-track twelve inch records available from Dreck-Records (DRK02/03/04/06/09), all distributed by Kompakt. Earlier works were published on the labels fi rst CD-Compilation ‘Dreck-Reala Compil’. London based ‘Soul Jazz Records’ has released the twelve inch record ‘We Got It Like That’ in 2004. Next to his own releases, Secondo has remixed various artists on labels like Staubgold, LO Recordings and others. Radovan is currently working on remixes
for different artists and on new material to be released on Dreck Records and on Soul Jazz Records.
Secondo has performed live at clubs all over the world, from Jacks in London, Mutek in Canada, Blå in Oslo, to Lethargy in Zürich among many other locations.

AM/PM
...is the second project of Radovan Scasascia on Dreck-Records. Here he introduces yet another Intriguing concept to combine popular music and conceptual composing. AM/PM’s fi rst two releases (DRK-05/07) feature tracks composed mostly of final notes and humms recorded from the ends of existing pieces of music. Again a wide selection of source material is sampled here, but unlike with Secondo’s chop-choptechnique these tracks do not refer to their source material. A melancholia and angularity runs through these tracks – once removed from their original songs, these sounds adopt a feeling of fi nality as well as endlessness. The two Mini LPs were also released together on a CD in October 2004, named ‘The Ends I & II’.
Next to his numerous Secondo gigs Radovan Scasascia recently started playing livesets of his AM/PM material, both in clubs and in gallery environments.
