Luci - Paléotronique (12")
label . mutec_rec
release date . mai, 2005
paléotronique, a marvelus spinning ep on mutek rec, associated label of the canadian festival based in Montréal. The collaboration of Guillaume Coutu Dumont (one-half of the acclaimed duo Egg) and David Fafard (Nanalog) convinces with a steady and balanced ratio of minimal-funk roughness and head-nodding beatstructures.

While mullet is in da house comes along "like an over-excited robot learning to play a drum kit" - turning itself into a freak out, yet funky scenario, dangeresquee is wavering between playful spinning synth-tunes and gradually drifting percussive structures that can truly be described as modern and state-of-the-art floor-fillers.
The 3tracker closes with blastocyste - a shivering, subtle dancetrack - slightly different in mood and feel from the first two cuts, but delights the listener with a fascinating spectrum of crystalline details and dense dub-textures. Refreshing ep, highly recommended!
