musik052-35px.gifMarek Hemmann - Mini 24 EP (12")
label . Raum...Musik
Release date . January, 2006

„Mini 24“ is the promising solo debut by Marek Hemmann, one half of the german dj and producer duo Hemmann & Kaden (Freude Am Tanzen). The EP features three refreshing tracks of catching simplicity, drawing on a range of seemingly disparate influences to create a truly varied sound that is equally passionate and sophisticated. With superior ease and curiosity Hemmann fuses kicking and truly floor-friendly grooves with a deliberate melodic base of infectious grace. While the title track feels more like a dark and haunting industrial techno piece the flipside delivers a more subtle and sensitive version of the same theme.

rry01-35px.gifLump - Baffled EP (12")
label . Rrygular
Release date . January 16, 2006

Rrygular, the new sidelabel of Mo's Ferry that aims to provide us with fresh and sophisticated minimal techno tunes in the near future, starts with an incredibly catchy and delicate 12" by Lump. Once again he's taking us on a mindmelting trip through the complex patterns of his inspiring and unmistakable sound, melting cascading particles of sheer sonic brilliance with fragmented dub elements all covered by playful and highly infectious grooves. Each track seems to be an animated scene with parts and counterparts chasing each other through obstacle courses while creating a sound of tweaked spatial depth and conscientious abstraction.

mcosm1011-35px.gifSocks and Sandals - Shatter EP (12")
label . Microcosm Music
Release date . January 23, 2006

Again Microcosm blesses us with an astonishingly charming and sensitive 12", that is not just captivating by its wonderfully subtle nature, but also feels incredibly catchy and danceable. Socks and Sandals are delighting us with an excellent mixture of filigree, yet driving grooves gliding through pulsating waves of instrumental parts and playful vocal constellations without loosing its dancefloor appeal. The titletrack melts driving structures, gently rolling basslines and a lively microcosm of distorted vocal fragments and quirky sound effects, creating a seamless and dense mix of clicky restlessness and funked up breaks.

adjunct03-35px.gifPheek - Ideal Love EP (12")
label . Adjunct
Release date . January 2006

Once again a delightfully crackling and playful release by the canadian artist from Montréal. Far away from ingratiating dancefloor sympathies Pheek developes a highly obstinate aesthetic that reflects his extremely unconventional use of rhythmic structures and a preference for twisting and sophisticated sampling. While the titletrack comes along as an organically shuffling creature, "Idle Love" on the flipside creates harmonies full of graceful ease and warmth that find an excellent final in the more driving, yet subtle structures and arrangement of "Gallery". All in all a highly demanding 12" that is unique in it's own sparkling way and marked by a high grade of acute intensity.

orac018-35px.jpgDapayk - Songs Make Money (12")
label . Orac
Release date . October 2005

With "Songs Make Money", Dapayk delivers an infectious and inventive 12" - that feels strangely arcane, almost claustrophobic -- all covered by a final touch of captivating madness and hidden irony. The crisp crunch of uncompromising beats and deep basslines merge seamlessly in a unique and magnificent way, while skewed tunes and alienated vocal fragments dissolve in suspense-ridden harmonies. The b-side features an inspiring and multifaceted remix by Orac's own Caro, that finally turns the beasty original into a disconized groover of certain sweetness.
